As our digital nomad lifestyle continues to flourish, several countries are streamlining their visa processes to attract remote workers. Here are some notable destinations simplifying entry requirements in 2025:
Spain: financial incentives in Extremadura
Spain’s Extremadura region is offering financial incentives of up to €15,000 to digital nomads who relocate there for at least two years, aiming to revitalise rural areas. More info here
Kenya: new digital nomad visa
Kenya has introduced a digital nomad visa allowing remote workers globally to live and work in the country. Applicants need a valid passport, proof of remote employment outside Kenya, accommodation within Kenya, a clean criminal record, and a minimum annual income of $55,000 USD. More info here
Thailand: extended stays for remote workers
Thailand has approved longer stays for tourists, students, and remote workers. The validity of digital nomad visas for remote workers will be extended to five years, with a maximum stay of 180 days per visit. More info here
